  1. It would be lovely if TTS could be included though I suspect this would be v. difficult due to the availability of decent free TTS engines and voices. Perhaps someone out there knows more than I.

  2. Use javascript to write a mobile client which should work on Android, iPhone and Windows Phone 7.

How well this cross-platform aspect works in practice still remains to be seen, but it's the only option given the size of the core development team.

Initially, it will be a thin client very much like MnemoDodo, where you only export a few days' worth of revisions. Difference with MnemoDodo will be that the sync can be initiated from the phone

  3. Under the hood, libmnemosyne already supports this, but currently, there is no UI support.

This will enable card types with a arbitrary number of fields, and with an aribtrary number of sister cards.

Support will also be added for custum CSS and custom standard text on each of the cards.

  4. Mnemosyne web server provides a web-based user interface which is compatible with all devices.
User can run a mnemosyne webserver on a server computer in their local network and get access to the user interface on their mobiles, tablets, laptops and etc on their home/office network.

  5. I would love an option like the title says.

The reason is that I am learning a language. I have now about 2000 cards (front and back == ca 1000 foreign words) everyday I have about 100 cards scheduled.
If I did a new lection in busuu, I have about 20 new words, that are shown to me at the end of my daily schedule. This has three disadvantages, I think.

    1. After 100 cards I am kind a bored or tired, when I know, now will be more cards even harder to remember. I think would be better if they…

  6. At the mo., I'm loading lots of verb conjugations. The verbs come at the end of the list of my tags so I am continually closing prior tags to get at them or scrolling down the tag window.

I'd find it much quicker if I could expand the tags as necessary.

  7. Add support to import anki database because ther vice-versa exists and anki users can import mnemosyne database.

And another is that....I want to sync my iphone has Repetitions with windows program but I cant do that. I think there should be something like anki that program can be synced with multi platform database and the core data should be stored in cloud.

    Thanks

  8. I use multiple sources for my card data, and sometimes the exact same question will appear in more than one source. I can end up with duplicate cards and find that it would be help ful to be able to perform duplicate card detection once cards have been entered. This will also be a useful function once the ability to export/import cards has also been implemented.

  9. When you insert a sound file (for example mp3) and the currently card is shown the sound is automatically played (which is good of course)
But when you go to the next card the sound from the previous card does not stop (and as a far as I know you can't disable this setting)
So while your learning the next cards you still hear the sounds from the previous cards (if the duration of the sound is long enough)

Even if you close Mnemosyne all sounds from your selected cards are still played in full length.

  10. I really miss the cram feature on the android phone.
    It has only 2 options:

    Select study mode

    Scheduled -> forgotten -> new
    Study new unlearned cards only

  12. Hello,

I was wondering if you could add a function to automatically send text to our computer's clipboard from Mnemosyne so that we can sync Mnemosyne with a text-to-speech program.

For example, the codes like these(http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/22899/Talking-Clipboard,  https://csharphardcoreprogramming.wordpress.com/2015/01/12/clipboard-to-text-to-speech-tts/
) monitor the Windows clipboard and read the newly received text contents.
So, if Mnmosysne send the text in the front/back filed,  or the field dedicated to this function, which could be better as some front/back field might contain HTML codes or memos, when the front/back card shows up, the programs will read it aloud for us.
    I looked into…

  13. I am re-pasting that guy's old idea, which Peter Bienstman did not answer correctly as to what he intended probably.

How does it look to you if i go in browse cards, and i have, for example

    The <a href="http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/semantics.html#the-html-element">html</a> element [root]

While in a program like anki i have

The html element (while HTML is underlined, as a link clickable)

I liked the feature that it has an integrated browser, but thanks to this i must go back to Anki, i cant browse Questions properly right now, with all the HTML format there. And No, I don't want to…

  14. This is a bit for the geeky type who knows how to write batch files or scripts. Let's face the program is rather limited of what you can add to a database. I would like to have the ability to execute a command upon showing an answer, for example this way the answer could be a power point presentation or a PDF file. All I need in this case is to have mnemosyne run a batch file that launches the application under question. This way it can be much more flexible in what it can do. Definitely the application should…

  16. I have some Q/A pairs, in which the answer is some sort of short summary or excerpt from a legal regulation. In this case I like to add a html-reference to the full text in the answer (which I should memorise ideally, but is too much for a one step approach).
After clicking the external link, I can only get back to my original short answer by the trick of resizing the window.

  17. At the moment there are dozends of different flashcard systems for different flashcard software. Mostly each software just supports two to three different formats though the quality of the created files are unsatisfactory.
Therefore it would be great to have an online platform which offers an easy and platform independent way to export flashcards in different formats.

Moreover the online platform would make it possible to outsorce the export funktion from the flashcard software presupposed there es a free API. Different flashcard programs on several operating systems could use the API to make their program support more formats and make…

  18. I often review more than the scheduled cards as I often have a backlog. It would be nice to see how many I've marked today. To avoid clutter on the main window, the Scheduled number of cards could be shown as a minus figure.
