Mnemosyne web server hosted on your own network
Mnemosyne web server provides a web-based user interface which is compatible with all devices.
User can run a mnemosyne webserver on a server computer in their local network and get access to the user interface on their mobiles, tablets, laptops and etc on their home/office network.
Released a long time sago, forgot to close.

More or less implemented, and in much less than 500 work units :-)

In theory, yes, only problem is that the current implementation has zero security...

Would it be possible to run the webserver on personal remote hosting? It would be super-cool.

Central web server would be a definitely great feature in future developments, but what about a simple local web server at this stage?
My experience, whenever I review cards on my laptop while I'm at home, I wish I could also do that on my phone without exporting/syncing with mnemododo.
Local web server will always let me to open my laptop, run mnemosyne and review cards on all devices that are connected to my WLAN by just opening web browser and entering my laptop's IP address. -
Making the prototype implementation work again is indeed not an awful lot of work. There are few caveats, though: it is not very polished, and needs to run on your own machine, as opposed to a central server.

Is it possible now to use the current implementation of webserver?
I think implementing this feature is much more simpler than universal mobile client (maybe 15 working units?) -
You're still free to store your database on dropbox, but the central server we are talking about here is an alternative to this, which moreover allows online reviewing through a web browser.

Should also take care of back-up and recovery outside of own computer.
Must this be one solution or could each Mnemosyne-user decide to put on Google-disk, Dropbox or similar?
I am willing to pay for such a service -
There is currently a webserver prototype implemented, but it's not yet bundled with Mnemosyne itself and is rather bare-bones.
Once the universal mobile client is ready, this can also be used a starting point for a more functional web client.
The current webserver is hosted on your own computer. Whether I will provide a central Mnemosyne webserver at some stage will depend on the demand. I will probably need to charge a modest fee to recover hosting costs, though.
