  3. Mnemosyne currently allows you to review cards in an order which is either based on urgency or random.

I seem to recall reading that recall is promoted by grouping associated items together; I know that I think it would help me.

I think I would be quite happy with a simple method which went through the tags in alphabetical order, but a more elegant solution might be to review the tags in the most urgent card first, then pass to the tags in the next most urgent card and so on until all cards were reviewed.

Actually, for memory it’s best to break up the tags order, otherwise you ‘cheat’ by using associations with neighbouring cards.

Anyway, if you really want to achieve this, you can use ‘deactivate cards’ to activate one tag at the time.

  7. In spelling mode you would need to enter the answer yourself from keyboard. First you submit one variant. As you go along repeating the flashcards, you could add additional right variants for each flashcards (small variations of the right answer).

  8. Schedule should permit one day off. If you do an extensive amount of cards daily, this allows less pile up. God bless

  10. Since some of the plugins use JS files and html tags, I thought importing multiple columns could be a breeze of you could set up multiple columns to be in the question side and 1 or 2 columns to be on the answer side. In other words here is an example :

Column 1 - <plugin script referencing .js columns - showing that column 1-5 is on front of card - and randomize options for multiple choice>
    Column 2 - Question 1
    Column 3 - <br> <img src=1.jpg>
    Column 4 - <br> Option 2
    Column 5 - <br> Option 3…

  11. I would like to see unique ID numbers for each card, which could be made searchable, so that it is easy to note down and later find cards which might be badly phrased, or otherwise need editing.

  13. I'm trying to learn at a very fast rate, and I am adding about 30 to 40 cards per day. This makes the workload of my daily scheduled repetitions pretty high. Rather than having all the scheduled repetitions cycle through once, it would be nice to have several smaller cycles, so I can do my repetitions distributed over the day, while being able to focus on difficult cards for extended periods of time.

  14. Sounds like it commands to show New cards first, ahead of Scheduled cards.

Suggestion: “Show new cads in this order”

  15. I like how the vocabulary card has multiple subsets, but I would like to be able to edit those subsets for different subjects. E.g. I am trying to learn several virus, so if you could change the 'pronunciation' field to cue for your own goal like 'clinical signs' and 'meaning' to cue for 'name of the disease' or whatever. It would be useful to be able to alter that aspect of a cloned card type.

  16. When adding a new card I always get the same default category (tag). I have no idea how this category became the default one, but it would be nice if we could say which cateory should be the default one.
Even better would be, if the default category would be the last used category (the one the last new card was added).

  17. Bug Report

Sorry for posting here, but don’t know where to report bug.

When I start Mnemosyne, if it cannot locate (flash drive, network drive, folder access rights etc. ) Mnemosyne database (db) it will not run. It would just post message box and close.

  18. As the subject states. I like the "note" feature which displays some kind of text below the answer. I think it would be nice displaying the same text below the question too. Or maybe creating a configurable "hint" textfield or extracting the notes and displaying them in a separate third textfield.

  19. As you learn, sometimes you realise that two cards back there are some corrections or explanations to be added.
There is no easy way to go back and make those corrections - except ctrl+B then find the card and edit it.
It would be easier with a back button.

  20. mplayer can handle more types of files - flv and mpeg, for example - than show up when you are searching a list of audio files. Having to type in . or *.mpeg (or whatever it was a few days ago) to activate the list or try to remember how the filename started is a nuisance.

Mplayer is only used as a temporary solution under Windows, where a Qt bug prevents the use of the html5 sound tag, which gives you e.g. a player widget with pause buttons, etc, …

So, as soon as Qt on Windows is fixed, mplayer is going away.
