fix latex error on android app or allow skipping questions
On the computer, I had no problems at all using latex (together with the config.py latex preamble). Thank you very much for this program!
However, in many cases, a latex formula cannot be displayed on the android app (e.g. <$>a{bc}</$> cannot be displayed although <$>a_b</$> works fine). This is very annoying, because the app neither lets you skip the question nor displays the rest of the formula. The formula is just overwritten with text telling you that either latex or dvipng isn't installed. That is why the android app is currently useless to me (I am a mathmatics…3 votes(BTW, for bugs and support questions, Uservoice is not the right place, that’s for voting on future suggestions).
Is latex properly installed on your desktop machine? Do the formulas show up there? It’s not android that generates the latex, that’s your desktop machine right before a sync.
For that reason, it’s also important that if you customise e.g. the latex preamble on your desktop, you make the same change on your android phone, otherwise it will not recognise the desktop’s images.

Adding / changing tag should not activate card changed-switch
I've got 4 "child"-databases and one master-db. All cards (vocabulary, seperated by tags for the learning-years) are only changed in the master-db, then exported and imported in the child's database. Each child-database is synchronised with the child's mobile, so everyone has his individual set of cards and learning-infos.
Everything o.k., but ...
if I have to change a tag (e.g. adding one child's learning level, so that he/she gets this word, too), the whole card seems to be marked as changed and causes duplicate cards in the children-databases [because of the different learning-information?].
Would there be any possibility to say…1 voteSee comments for workaround.

All tags should be card sets
It's quite annoying to create tags and afterwards activate them. It should be easier. Tags should be card sets.
- Instead of the "activate cards window", I would like to see an "order tags window".
- The first tag in the list would be the active card set.
- The second tag would be the second active set and so on.
- The sets/tags should be in the same order on the smartphone.
- A search feature on the smartphone to select sets, if you don't like the active set.
- The last activated/clicked set/tag will move to the top of the list on the smartphone…

DUPLICATE: Undo an unwanted grading
Sometimes my space bar hiccoughs, with the result that a card is graded with 4 instead of the answer shown.
Often I have those cards wrong, but now they won't be shown again for many months!
Please have
(1) A way to undo a rash grading; and
(2) A way to regrade any card in the data base.Thank you!

Let me stop seeing certain cards on a given day
If I practice for more than the scheduled amount, I keep seeing the same cards repeatedly even when I give them a 5 and derive nothing from seeing them over and over. I want to practice for more time and this prevents me from doing that. I need a way to say, don't show me this card again today, feed me new cards that I need more review on.

I'm missing my beloved shortkeys in the newest verision :(
I loved to add new cards, deactivate cards or search through them only using my keyboard because I dont like my mousepad on the laptop.
Now I have to use a mouse.

Disable the popup messages option
A simple option to disable the hint/help popups as they keep appearing and after you have read them over and over again it gets purely annoying. This is what i have experienced in the pc version

I find that if I change the category of cards the program marks that card as unlearned. It should be possible to prevent this.
Changing categories of cards without changing their learnt characteristics.

Enable review of memorised cards in tag order
Mnemosyne currently allows you to review cards in an order which is either based on urgency or random.
I seem to recall reading that recall is promoted by grouping associated items together; I know that I think it would help me.
I think I would be quite happy with a simple method which went through the tags in alphabetical order, but a more elegant solution might be to review the tags in the most urgent card first, then pass to the tags in the next most urgent card and so on until all cards were reviewed.
1 voteActually, for memory it’s best to break up the tags order, otherwise you ‘cheat’ by using associations with neighbouring cards.
Anyway, if you really want to achieve this, you can use ‘deactivate cards’ to activate one tag at the time.

This is not a feature for Mnemosyne to provide, but rather the OS. There are e.g. many utilities, custom keyboard layouts, etc, which allow you to do this.

I love mnemosyne but dislike the management aspects (taking backups, moving it from device to device.)
Wondering why there would not be a web-version that I could access just like I access my email?

DUPLICATE: add the option for 2 cards automatically handled instead of 2
I use audio cards a lot and it would be helpful to have the "foreign word or phrase", "pronounciation", and "meaning cards" grouped together.
What I mean is 3 seperate cards created and linked together similar to what you have now with the two. This would allow an audio only card to be used without sacrificing one of the other two. Thanks.

add a function for update the program
Install mnemosyne is too difficult... I think is a good idea put a funtion for update or better add the program in deposite of ubuntu or simply make a .deb or .rpm
