  1. I would love an option like the title says.

The reason is that I am learning a language. I have now about 2000 cards (front and back == ca 1000 foreign words) everyday I have about 100 cards scheduled.
If I did a new lection in busuu, I have about 20 new words, that are shown to me at the end of my daily schedule. This has three disadvantages, I think.

    1. After 100 cards I am kind a bored or tired, when I know, now will be more cards even harder to remember. I think would be better if they…

  2. I often review more than the scheduled cards as I often have a backlog. It would be nice to see how many I've marked today. To avoid clutter on the main window, the Scheduled number of cards could be shown as a minus figure.

  3. It would be useful if the active set were highlighted in the Deactivate Sets dialog. I'd also like to see it on the main window too.

  4. When sorting cards according to their date of creation (for example to get the last created card and reedit it to correct a mistake), Mnemosyne resets the sorting. The need for resorting cards again by clicking on the head of the column is not convenient.

  7. Chinese has many words with the same pronunciation. When I see a flashcard with the word "wǔ," how am I supposed to know if it means "five" or "must not?"

The best thing to do in this case is adding some extra data to the card that will help you make that distinction, e.g. a hint like ‘not five’ to indicate that you want ‘must not’ as an answer.

Alternatively, what you suggested is already there too, as in ‘deactivate cards’ you can turn off ‘recognition cards’

  8. Optionally, export to ANY format with learning data. This would allow smartphone apps to be able to use mnemosyne cards. Of course mnemododo exists, but it's far from excellent.

  9. At the moment there are dozends of different flashcard systems for different flashcard software. Mostly each software just supports two to three different formats though the quality of the created files are unsatisfactory.
Therefore it would be great to have an online platform which offers an easy and platform independent way to export flashcards in different formats.

Moreover the online platform would make it possible to outsorce the export funktion from the flashcard software presupposed there es a free API. Different flashcard programs on several operating systems could use the API to make their program support more formats and make…

  12. This is a suggestion for the core algorithm. My intuition is based on the fact that quality of recall is somewhat stochastic in nature. Sometimes I remember something well, while at other times I can't recall the same thing exactly even if it is at the tip of my tongue. It then seems that if I rate something a '5' a few consecutive times, the next scheduled date for that item should blow up exponentially, since I would seem to be able to recall it quickly despite the stochasticity. This would mean that the pathways for that memory have been…

  16. I like to change answers to questions to answers to make sure my brain can easily answer a question presented in either format. I usually start with the definition and give the answer. I would be nice to have the option to get answer a give the definition automatically.

  17. This is a bit for the geeky type who knows how to write batch files or scripts. Let's face the program is rather limited of what you can add to a database. I would like to have the ability to execute a command upon showing an answer, for example this way the answer could be a power point presentation or a PDF file. All I need in this case is to have mnemosyne run a batch file that launches the application under question. This way it can be much more flexible in what it can do. Definitely the application should…

  19. At the mo., I'm loading lots of verb conjugations. The verbs come at the end of the list of my tags so I am continually closing prior tags to get at them or scrolling down the tag window.

I'd find it much quicker if I could expand the tags as necessary.
