Export to XML, optionally with meta-data
The ability to export (and import) to an xml format would allow third party developers to be able to play nicely with the cards in this program. Cards could be exported to smartphone apps that understand the xml, or imported from that same app.
Additionally The cards have extra data, such as a category or tags and statistics. The ability to export this data in a granular fashion (selecting which data to export) would allow the deck organization and learning data to be transferred or synchronized with third party programs and apps.

introduce the ability to cycle through certain cards as a group
Ok, I've noticed a memory phenomenon happening when I use Mnemosyne. Suppose I add card A and memorize it, and sometime later add card B and memorize that. After a while, IF the cards A and B are similar, I get easily confused between the two. I believe this is called interference.
I suggest a solution. Introduce the ability to group cards like A and B together, and show them one after the other over and over, so I can understand what the differences are between the two. This sort of learning by comparison and contrast happens outside of Mnemosyne…

Allow splitting of a day's scheduled cards into several small batches
I'm trying to learn at a very fast rate, and I am adding about 30 to 40 cards per day. This makes the workload of my daily scheduled repetitions pretty high. Rather than having all the scheduled repetitions cycle through once, it would be nice to have several smaller cycles, so I can do my repetitions distributed over the day, while being able to focus on difficult cards for extended periods of time.

Allow the user to review the day's scheduled cards at a later time even after finishing the day's repetitions
It would be useful to have the ability to go through the day's cards once again, say at the end of the day, especially the ones that one couldn't get right the first time. This is because I might commit it to memory in the morning, but forget it by evening, in which case there's no way I will remember it the next day. It would quicken up the memorization process to be able to review the cards multiple times on the same day.

Add unique identity numbers for each card
I would like to see unique ID numbers for each card, which could be made searchable, so that it is easy to note down and later find cards which might be badly phrased, or otherwise need editing.

Use the import txt file with question and answer in separate line
I am using the version 1 of mnemosyne and i like to make my questionary in a text file with question/answer in separate line, because it`s more easily for me to understand an edit them, also I can study them in others places.
In the actual version of mnemosyne this import option does not exist.

DUPLICATE: Add a spelling mode for answers
In spelling mode you would need to enter the answer yourself from keyboard. First you submit one variant. As you go along repeating the flashcards, you could add additional right variants for each flashcards (small variations of the right answer).

Support HTML tables
Sometime we require tables to present a set of information such as truth tables and decision tables.
Supporting HTML tables will make this easier.
Currently we have to make the table in spreadsheet, screenshot it, and add it as an image. This makes it slow to make changes and large size in the database.3 votesalready implemented

change the default category
When adding a new card I always get the same default category (tag). I have no idea how this category became the default one, but it would be nice if we could say which cateory should be the default one.
Even better would be, if the default category would be the last used category (the one the last new card was added).1 voteAlready implemented

DUPLICATE: Edit vocabulary subsets
I like how the vocabulary card has multiple subsets, but I would like to be able to edit those subsets for different subjects. E.g. I am trying to learn several virus, so if you could change the 'pronunciation' field to cue for your own goal like 'clinical signs' and 'meaning' to cue for 'name of the disease' or whatever. It would be useful to be able to alter that aspect of a cloned card type.

Option to show all answers on 1 card in cloze deletion i/o many cards
Would be good to have option to see the answers in the cloze deletion on one card at once. E.g. learning German I create the question card: [Das] Badewasser schwappte über [den] Rand [der] Wanne [hinaus], the one answer card shows all replies at once das - den - der - hinaus instead of creating 4 cards. Very practical for grammar learning.

DUPLICATE: make an real export/import features
It is much easier to make own sets by editing textfiles (utf8 ofcourse) with columns separated by commas, semicolons, tabs. There is also much easier to edit and correct own sets by editing textfiles. But there is a lack of possibility of import and export to/from textfiles in Mnemosyne. I know that i can import tab separeted columns, but i cannot export my database. So please add a simple feature that provide a import/export to/from textfiles.

DUPLICATE: When importing cards, decide how many you want to appear each day
When importing a new deck with many cards, it would be nice have all the cards grade on O so that you could decide how many new cards you want to learn each day (the way anki allows you to do).

Put a card to the "Will not yet try to memorise" / ignore card when having tag
Sometimes a card is just to hard to memorize or you may have other priorities. Make a plugin that makes card(s) ignored when having a certain tag.

Default card type
It would be great being able to select a default card type.
I only use the vocabulary card type but often forget to select it and thus have to convert it. So setting a default card type would be great.
