Review a card additionally a few days later as you want
When one uses Mnemosyne for over one year, some flash cards will be scheduled in an exponential manner, for example, into the next 400 or 500 days, which is too long and uncertain. Sometimes you just want to keep reviewing those cards frequently, especially at a fixed interval. The penalty of giving such cards a grade 0 or 1 to review it frequently is also too huge. Therefore I suggest the following two new features to be considered: 1). Let users decide the next review time in the above case to add flexibility, and 2). users can optionally ask Mnemosyne to provide an additional review of any (currently reviewed) card a given time later, while it won't influence the database (an idea like the cramming plugin, but with customized scheduled system and treat cards individually).

I LOVE the optional maximum review Interval idea. I'm going to paste that as a new thread. please look for it around August 30, 2015 and vote for it if you agree. I'll vote for this thread too:)

One of Bono's idea is:
1). Let users decide the next review time
{ in the above case ? - is it for very matured cards only ? }
This is very appealing if applied to New cards, too.
User grading now is a wild guess - you do not know what
the next rep Interval will be.
But allowing the user ( at early stages - like 30 days? )
to choose the next Interval ( instead of bottons designed
for an Average user) would give him an option to try
different "Accelerated Intervals";
and accumulate statistics on them { Retention % };
and twick the Intervals to suit the ACTUAl ( not an average ) user.After 30 days or so, SRS will learn the user's memory skills
better then with existing Grading bottons thus, will schedule much better.Idea 2: " ... users ... ask Mnemosyne to provide an additional review ... "
will be usefull after 30 days or earlier - because the Mnemo jumps
{ based on my observations } from 1mo interval, to 3-4 mo .
These extra reviews are to be recognised by the system.This is my priority 1 item.

I agree with silverbear. A user-configurable cap on review time would do the trick for me.

Note that there's also the cramming scheduler which allows you to review cards as you like.

Maybe just an optional cap on the maximum review time? e.g. if more than 12 months, set to 12 months (the values could be user specified).
