  1. Instead of having 'Question' & 'Answer' windows on the same 'page', please display in Tabs like a modern browser. This will help when using images as both question (with redacted parts) & answer, allowing you to switch conveniently between both images.

This might open the way for follow-on questions to test knowledge to a greater depth where answers are displayed in subsequent Tabs in a chain like arrangement.

  3. I'd like to access the "Add tags" dialog box (currently available only by right-clicking in the "Browse" window) while reviewing cards. Perhaps with "ctrl-g."

Right now, if I want to rapidly add a tag, I have to "ctrl-e", then "shift-enter", then "right arrow" before typing a comma and the new tag. And, more importantly, the 2nd, 3rd, etc, tags don't autofill like the first one.

    Thanks for this great software!

  4. while making flash cards i often have to go back to another card and check if the last card needs to be edited or not
so the card that i was making now has to be like canceled and then i go back in to the data base and change the previous one
if editing multiple cards was available i could save time to write the whole new card :D thanks

  5. The size of the main window and some other windows (e.g. the statistics window) is apparently determined by the length of the longest tags. Since my cards are organised using multiple levels of sub-categories, my tags become rather long, and thus the size of the windows often exceeds the screen width. Adjusting the size to a smaller width is not possible.

Furthermore, card tags are shown in a single line between the icons in the main window and the front card area (behind the word "Question:"). I surmise allowing line breaks for longer tags might solve the problem.

  6. It is useful to minimize Mnemosyne to tray. With icon changing whether there are pending cards.

  7. When learning a new language I find it easier to learn recognition cards before production cards. But i would like to be able to learn producing cards i already recognize without cards i don't yet recognize .

  8. If I want to cram something which is sequential, like a poem divided into pairs of line for example, the most intuitive approach would be to review it sequentially. At the moment, I don't have the option.

  11. Useful for learning the name of plants, animals, etc. In order not to memorize a photo with a name, without carefully check the characterization of the specimen, the photo should change randomly, from a list.

  12. Can't upgrade to Mnemosyne 2.0 because I am using a mac with a 32 bit processor. Keeping the program at 32 bit would help extend compatibility without any loss in functionality.

  13. Problem: Many ideas will never be implemented , yet they are 'mixed' with the viable ones; they 'steal' our collective time - because we can not avoid seeing them.

Sugg: they can be 'quarantined' in a folder "Rejected" .

  14. An option to hide status bar. It would be nice if it was possible to do with a shortcut.
In my view the status bar might be mayor distraction while doing repetitions. It bothers me because I focus on number of not memorised cards instead of thinking about answer.

  16. By using this mode mnemosyne would build sentences from tagged cards.

The user would be able to create sentence templates, for example: [subject::secondpersonsingular] [verbtype2::secondpersonsingular] [objecttype2]

That way mnemosyne would be able to build sentences. The underlying algorithm would only have to be changed for words, which already have been learned, because those words will be used by mnemosyne without any restrictions, the unknown words will be scheduled as usual.

For example: He loves Iceland<->Er liebt Island

The user already might know the words "he" and "Iceland", and he might not now the word "loves"…

  17. If possible, make it easier for users to copy the text in errors so you don't have to type them manually or take a screenshot.
Also, if possible, make a button beside the error that takes the user to the bug reporter or forum.

  18. Mnemosyne can be employed as a construction tool for one's own digital cockpit. It could become a kind of display cabinet, parts of which one could share and parts which one can keep for oneself. Overviews can be seen in time but also as side view of the development of one idea into another

  19. In "Browse cards" view, in the lower left pane where it says "having any of these tags:" it already shows the count of how many cards have that tag. It would be great to have a % right next to it, either % of active cards or % of total cards. Should be easy to add.

  20. Insisting that my plain text file's name be terminated with a ".txt" seems pointless. Is it possible to lift this restriction? Thanks!
