  1. The ability to remap/configure keyboard shortcuts either via the preferences dialog or editing a text file.

I have a keyboard layout that makes using the default keyboard shortcuts inconvenient.

  3. I like to memorise twice a day, and it would be great to be able to mark a card as "maybe known till the evening" - no longer having it appear in the morning, but seeing it again in the evening.
Other people may have still other work rhythms (say, every other day), so having this as a general feature would be nice.

  4. During the daily repetition, often a card will come up, the answer of which I know I know, but cannot quickly recall. I don't want to peek, but should like to move this card to the end of the stack of cards to be repeated, so that I can quickly deal with the easy cards and then come back to this one.

Giving a rating of 1 does NOT solve this problem, as first of all it shows the answer (and deprives me of the opportunity to give it myself), and secondly it ranks the card as unlearned, with the…

  5. Tthe default settings make the tex elements feel very much out of place, because they are so much bigger and don't really fit in with the rest of the card. Alternatively, the default font could be made as big as the Latex default font. Either way, it's annoying, that they don't match out of the box.

  6. Resizing hundreds of pictures manually is frustrating, whereas Anki scales them to fit the screen perfectly.
I'd pay for this feature in Mnemosyne.

  7. I want to use Mnemosyne instead of Anki because I prefer Mnemosyne's layout, but it's just to cumbersome to have to download a picture/audio file and then right click to find it in your files and insert it that way. In Anki I can just drag and drop it right in when I'm creating the card.

  8. It takes very long to write <$>...</$>. For those who use Latex a lot, is there a possibility to just use $...$ instead? Is it possible if you add that option?

  9. The user is able to make any kinds of changes in terms of font, font colour, size, bold/italic/underlined etc., to card info and immediately see the results of those changes.

This would mean you could, for example, mark in red or underline vowel changes in verbs or adjectival endings you want to learn for language-learning cards. Very useful for inflected languages like German!

  11. Now because of absence of spell check I have to create cards in other place and after move them to Mnemosyne. It will be nice if we have spell check support in "add cards" dialog. Also spell check should have option to turn on or off in settings window.

  14. Version 2.2a allows to activate all cards that either have at least one tag out of a list or all cards that do not contain a tag out of the list.
It would be very useful if one could combine several tags (or even several such lists) using Boolean operators.
One could then easily activate all nouns in a certain language from specific lessons of a course book, by ticking for instance "noun", "French", "Beginner's Book::42" in three lists and connecting them by the operator AND.

Thank you very much for developing and maintaining Mnemosyne.

  15. Support for using already existing cloud services (dropbox, google drive ...). Then both computers don't have to be online when syncing, and you'll never have to think of syncing manually.

Perhaps it could build upon the existing sync. function in mnemosyne, instead of syncing directly to another computer, pull the data from an folder. Check the folder each time mnemosyne starts, update the folder when mnemosyne quits.

  17. Microsoft Office OneNote allows Screen Clipping by Win+S to take a screenshot of a certain section of your screen.
Please make it so that Mnemosyne can paste images from the screen clippings copied in the clipboard

  18. I'm using the cram scheduler to review about 500 drug details. I find that assigning a number (0-5) slows the process. I just need a right or wrong and move to the next. If only there was a tool that allowed me to focus on particular cards that had the most thinking time. Donation incentive :)

  19. When you review a difficult card, with this skip the card option, you skip it temporarily, not let it block the way to review other cards, just as you can skip some tricky questions in an exam and go back later.
In my experience, thinking of the answer of a difficult card is time-consuming. But if we can skip it and go back later, the answer usually spring up, due to our magical brains in recalling.
The function has been implemented on Mnemododo. Why not implement it on Mnemosyne 2.x?

  20. I have quite a few cards at grade 2 with 'next repetition' set to about 11+ months ahead. These cards were put in when I first started using Mnemosyne so the delay may be due to incorrect grading, or old algorithms. I'd like to start them again without deleting and reinserting.

I'd also find this feature useful when learning a card v. similar to one previously learnt e.g. sabana (grassland), sábana (sheet). Sábana is not due for recall for 14 months - I'd like to see it coming up at a similar frequency to the new 'sabana' to reinforce the…
