@lisa I believe you're expected to go through all scheduled cards in a day, but there's no requirement to do it at a single sitting. Splitting review up may improve focus, allow studying while working, etc.

I agree that it is interesting to see how much time is spent on a card. But that feature ALREADY exists.
Planning to study for a certain time defeats the purpose of the software, which is that your practice cards need to be repeated at certain intervals. Naturally this means that some days you just need to spend more time than others in order to review the cards that you yourself want In other words, time is not the best variable to follow for your study pattern, rather number of cards is. This is how Mnemosyne is already set up. Not just with Mnemosyne, but with life in general, it is better to have task oriented goals rather than time oriented goals. If you are studying for a test, you should study each chapter fully until you know 100% of the material and are prepared for the test; you shouldn't just look at your book for an hour a day and hope that after 7 hours in a week that is enough studying. It needs to be task directed.

It will be great, if we can assign time to a tag (20 minutes for learning X, 30 minutes for learning Y). I really miss this feature, but I can give only 3 votes.
