Skip the card under review
When you review a difficult card, with this skip the card option, you skip it temporarily, not let it block the way to review other cards, just as you can skip some tricky questions in an exam and go back later.
In my experience, thinking of the answer of a difficult card is time-consuming. But if we can skip it and go back later, the answer usually spring up, due to our magical brains in recalling.
The function has been implemented on Mnemododo. Why not implement it on Mnemosyne 2.x?112 votes -
Ability to draw by hand on cards (if you have a stylus pen) / Create handwrite flashcards
It would be great if there was a function where you can use a stylus pen (if you have a tablet) to draw pictures or notes on (both sides of) one card (and SAVE the drawing) within Mnemosyne

Allow a card to be reset to 'unlearned'
I have quite a few cards at grade 2 with 'next repetition' set to about 11+ months ahead. These cards were put in when I first started using Mnemosyne so the delay may be due to incorrect grading, or old algorithms. I'd like to start them again without deleting and reinserting.
I'd also find this feature useful when learning a card v. similar to one previously learnt e.g. sabana (grassland), sábana (sheet). Sábana is not due for recall for 14 months - I'd like to see it coming up at a similar frequency to the new 'sabana' to reinforce the…

Fix pasting of images from clipboard to Mnemosyne
For example, if I press printscreen, or if I use a screen snipper tool, I'd like to be able to paste those images into Mnemosyne like I can with Anki. The current method of saving the image and inserting it from a dialog is far too slow.

more flexible txt based import (card type, tags, ...)
Add support for specifying card type in/from the file format when exporting/importing/into/out from mnemosyne.
For example map, front-to-back, vocabulary, etc.
The user will be able to specify which field in the card type each column in the txt file corresponds to.
Some columns could also be used to specify tags.

Set a Maximum Review Interval option in "Preferences"
I've seen variations of this idea in many threads, but I feel it deserves it's own. When you've been doing cards long enough, sometimes the interval of when you will next review it become 4 or 5 months, even if you mark it low. This is too long for some of us in classes. In the preferences, please put and option for Maximum review interval so that no matter how well known the card is, it will reappear in a specified number of days (14 days, 37 days, etc.) and the card will not be lost until next semester:) Thanks!

Support for existing cloud services
Support for using already existing cloud services (dropbox, google drive ...). Then both computers don't have to be online when syncing, and you'll never have to think of syncing manually.
Perhaps it could build upon the existing sync. function in mnemosyne, instead of syncing directly to another computer, pull the data from an folder. Check the folder each time mnemosyne starts, update the folder when mnemosyne quits.

Allow reviewing of cards based on thinking time
I'm using the cram scheduler to review about 500 drug details. I find that assigning a number (0-5) slows the process. I just need a right or wrong and move to the next. If only there was a tool that allowed me to focus on particular cards that had the most thinking time. Donation incentive :)

make one card dependent on having successfully learned a previous one
Suppose an English learner was learning the word "toothbrush". It would be facilitate learning if this vocabulary item could be left pending until both "tooth" and "brush" had already been learned.

Command-line interface (CLI)
Have a simple command-line interface to run mnemosyne on a headless machine (useful for the synchronization feature, for example) or review cards in the command-line.
Probably not very difficult to implement.

Allow to activate cards using Boolean operators
Version 2.2a allows to activate all cards that either have at least one tag out of a list or all cards that do not contain a tag out of the list.
It would be very useful if one could combine several tags (or even several such lists) using Boolean operators.
One could then easily activate all nouns in a certain language from specific lessons of a course book, by ticking for instance "noun", "French", "Beginner's Book::42" in three lists and connecting them by the operator AND.Thank you very much for developing and maintaining Mnemosyne.

Get'em on paper
Context matters in the learning process. (I have often experienced that in a "real life" situation I am unable to recall knowledge that I already know quite well an Spaced Rep. Learning situation).
Especially for material that is hard to learn I have sometines turned to printing them out on paper, train the old fashioned way for some time (using the physical flash-cards). For me it works :-)
Want: Possibility to make selection of cards and then: "Export to paper-based flash-cards"

add to statistics plugin a visualization of deck growth over time, split by grades
http://qsdeutschland.de/en/why-isnt-spaced-repetition-software-more-popular/
And finally, here are the results:
http://qsdeutschland.de/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/chart_1.png
The stacked bars show the total cards in my “deck,” broken down by rating. As you can see, I was adding 20-80 cards every day for twenty days, about a chapter a day, and when I finished the book, the last ten days were just spent reviewing cards. You can see at the end that according to my own target of 4 or better, I had learned well over 500 new German words by the end of the month. And I knew these words outside the context of these drills, recognized many…
