  2. This should not be difficult, since it can be done manually.

Paste the URL in the file-name box that opens on ^s. Play the audio. Then copy the address from between the quotes of the tags and Preview again. (It takes a few seconds. The resulting file (original name[1].mp3 is copied (by magic?) to the default media folder from the temporary file.

  3. By using this mode mnemosyne would build sentences from tagged cards.

The user would be able to create sentence templates, for example: [subject::secondpersonsingular] [verbtype2::secondpersonsingular] [objecttype2]

That way mnemosyne would be able to build sentences. The underlying algorithm would only have to be changed for words, which already have been learned, because those words will be used by mnemosyne without any restrictions, the unknown words will be scheduled as usual.

For example: He loves Iceland<->Er liebt Island

The user already might know the words "he" and "Iceland", and he might not now the word "loves"…

  4. In "Browse cards" view, in the lower left pane where it says "having any of these tags:" it already shows the count of how many cards have that tag. It would be great to have a % right next to it, either % of active cards or % of total cards. Should be easy to add.

  5. Add a new card type for "lists/lines". In that way you may memorize lists, poems or speeches more easily.

The listes could be displayed in a way defined by the user, for example showing each beginning letter of each element or words, typing the words, randomizing the letters, enabling to randomize the items order and so on, remember the line that has been removed and so on.

  7. I’d like a feature where Mnemosyne stops displaying cards after a preset number of cards. Say like the 15 cards warning, but not displaying more cards. Since the continued display of cards makes me go into a clicking frenzy and going through cards faster than wise and without the full learning effect. It also skrews the time statistics. I just looked at a card that says it looked at that card for about two minutes average, I don’t look that long at cards, but I do leave Mnemosyne sitting opening to review more cards later.

    In addition it would be…

  10. A triple (or arbitrarily many) card type where you are served the first question, click "Show answer" to display the next field (with an answer, and a follow up question), and click "Show Answer" again to display the field following THAT, until the last field is displayed and you rate your mastery as usual.

This card type, at least the basic version, should not create sister cards.

  12. You did an excellent job! Very useful and simple.

I have just a couple of suggestion :
    1)
if a card contain an image larger than current window, please add ability to pan image (eg: using ctrl+arrow keys) and/or open it with default app (eg : double click on it).
    2)
Another suggestion is to add a button other than "add, edit, delete" current card to temporary disable current card (eg assigning to a default tag thet is disabled ).
    Thanks in advance
    Bye :)

  14. A button on the toolbar would turn the Cramming Scheduler on and off. This would substitute one click for the four clicks of Settings > Manage Plugins > Cramming Scheduler > OK -- which is tiresome if a user often enables/disables cram mode.

  15. importing a picture is a very useful function as it helps fortify associations with the answer so your brain has more information to draw on while trying to remember/ think of an answer. Although this program does this, the picture imported is always very large.

  16. Allow the definition of multi-choice questions which you will find very often for any kind of tests.
    Ex.

    a) red
    b) yellow
    c) green

  17. Version 2.2a allows to activate all cards that either have at least one tag out of a list or all cards that do not contain a tag out of the list.
It would be very useful if one could combine several tags (or even several such lists) using Boolean operators.
One could then easily activate all nouns in a certain language from specific lessons of a course book, by ticking for instance "noun", "French", "Beginner's Book::42" in three lists and connecting them by the operator AND.

Thank you very much for developing and maintaining Mnemosyne.

  18. This is helpful when learning a language with a different alphabet, especially if the time intervals can be steadily decreased. (Simply displaying the cards can't be that difficult if it can be done with AHK.)

Once you have the function for stepping down the list you can also use it to do automate searches and replaces in a set of cards. (Say, for example, to remove the "_missing" from cards after the audio file has been found.)

  19. Support for using close deletion within close deletion.

For example when adding a close deletion card like this:

A cofactor is [an atom or molecule essential for the action of a large molecule, e.g., heme in hemoglobin, magnesium in chlorophyll. Solo metal ions are regarded as cofactors for proteins, but not as coenzymes. Often cofactors are a [metal or an organic protein].]

    It will produce:

  20. introduce two modes.
    1. Exam mode - unlimited number of reviews at a session.
    2. Normal mode - limited number of reviews at per session (5)

The normal mode would increase usage of the software by making studying easier - only a few things to learn at a time.

Not only that, this normal mode should be made up of at least 30% of familiar cards. This re-enforces old ideas and sandwiches new cards to make learning less difficult.
