  1. Working with flashcards featuring a lot of pictures, it would be nice to have an option for turning on an immediate preview of images while the user is still in the "edit card" tab.So no need for pressing "preview" as in preview mode of course you cannot work on the possible text you want to wrtie below your images.

  2. In may 2012 David Haas suggested to have Ctrl+B functionality for bold text.
SInce he did not put it in, as Peter advised, I'm doing it - bcs I need it for EVERY english vocab card.
Meanwhile, I will try to lear how to make keyboard macro, as David mentioned.

  3. Currently it is only possible to view grades for one single sub topic at a time which does not really give you a good idea of how you are progressing. Also it could take you a long time to view all your grades; if like me you have lots of topics and subtopics.

I think it would be useful to be able to see the grades of 'active cards only'. This way you can see how you are progressing on those cards which you are working on right now.

  4. I need to add sound to many cards, and I can do it by find and replacing some words to add the path of the sound files to the cards. Also I did some mistake in writing punctuations which I could correct all of them by find and replace. Right now I can't do it by exporting the database to another text editor because on import my learning process will be lost.

  6. HTML tables are being displayed with a specific default. The table is justified to the left of the card and the individual cells are centered. This is different than version 1.7, and work well with me.

I have a lot of cards with tables, so I'd like to avoid having to go through each card and add tags to get a certain table style. There should be a way to specify to Mnemosyne to display all tables in a default way (unless, of course, the HTML table tags contain specific formatting)?

This might be taken even more generally as some…

  8. It would be really helpful if it supported Office 2010/2013 clipboard information. So that it would retain bold/italics/font size/etc.

One step further would be to also detect and store font styles that would be usable throughout the database.

    For Example:
I have a very large microsoft word document that is using font styles for every component of my norwegian notes.

The reason why I used this system is so that when I want to make a change to several thousand vocabulary words formatting I can do it by just adjusting the style profile.

  10. It would be very good to have available a "makro" that retag a card in one click. Eg.:

    1) "Ctrl+1" would give the card with tag=Chpt1 the new tag 1Chpt1,
    2) "Ctrl+2" would give the card with tag=Chpt
1 the new tag 2Chpt1 etc.

For cards with multiple tags [Spanish::Chpt1, History::Chpt8] pressing "Ctrl+1" would give the the card the new tags [German::1Chpt1, History::1Chpt8]

This way it would be easier to use the excellent tag-functionality in Mnemosyne 2.0 to
    1) Give appropriate priority to a card which you after some…

  11. My language cards use Front-to-Back, Front-to-Back-&-Back-to-Front, Cloze Deletion types (I don't use Vocabulary type). It is helpful to use a different background color for each language so they are readily distinguishable (e.g. light red for Indonesian, light blue for English, etc.) But that requires a clone of each of the three above card types for each language. It would be much easier if I could set a background color which would apply, for example, to any Indonesian card, regardless of the card type.

  12. If "fast format" is used, searching for cards in the browser (in the field "Containing this text in the cards") requires that the format characters be included in the search string. But often a user cannot remember if formatting has been used, or which formatting options and in what order. This means that some text matches may be missed in the search if formatting is not entered exactly. (I don't know if this applies to HTML formatting as well.) A search should look for content, not formatting. Therefore it would be better if the search ignores formatting strings.

  15. Most of my time is usually spent on doing html formatting stuff. I've even wrote a simple app in C++ to simplify my job. But its still too time consuming. it'll be great if you could paste an already formatted text from an external app (which are in the format of rich text or RTF) and mnemosyne converted it to html.

  17. I would bet some money that (when you control for when the user switches away from the application) you could get some signal out of the delay before a user answers a question. I would even bet that it would be better than the users vote regarding how easy/hard it was.

It would be awesome to hook this up to an EEG monitor, although it is an expensive task. I might need to purchase a researcher grade Emotiv Epoch anyway, so if you want me to submit the raw data...

  18. An Apply button for the edit window would be useful when editing multiple cards from the card browser. PageUp / PageDown could then be used to move to the previous / next card instead of closing the window with the OK button, then moving to the next card and then opening the next card.

  19. Would be nice to be able to reduce the grade your answer selections. I use this for my 6 year old and 6 choices are too many. 0=mised it, 1= kinda got it after thinking for a while, 2= know it.
Being able to reduce the number of grades (which should be configurable) would be great!

  20. When one uses Mnemosyne for over one year, some flash cards will be scheduled in an exponential manner, for example, into the next 400 or 500 days, which is too long and uncertain. Sometimes you just want to keep reviewing those cards frequently, especially at a fixed interval. The penalty of giving such cards a grade 0 or 1 to review it frequently is also too huge. Therefore I suggest the following two new features to be considered: 1). Let users decide the next review time in the above case to add flexibility, and 2). users can optionally ask Mnemosyne…
