Simpler sessions
introduce two modes.
1. Exam mode - unlimited number of reviews at a session.
2. Normal mode - limited number of reviews at per session (5)
The normal mode would increase usage of the software by making studying easier - only a few things to learn at a time.
Not only that, this normal mode should be made up of at least 30% of familiar cards. This re-enforces old ideas and sandwiches new cards to make learning less difficult.

The status bar would then just always show the same number XX, as once you indicate that you've learned a card, a new one will be added to your hand to keep the number at XX.
If want you want is e.g. getting information once you've studied X new cards each day, then vote for the 'goals' plugin.

Okay thanks. But I want the ones i'm "holding" to show up in the status bar.
It would make me concentrate without worry on just a few items at a time.Once again thanks - great software.

Not sure if it's exactly the same of what you want, but take a look at the option 'hold xx non-memorised cards in your hand', which will make sure you never try to memorise more than xx cards at the same time.
You can also activate a small subset of your cards in 'activate cards' if you want to focus on only a number of cards.

To make the suggested "normal mode" work, the status bar where we have "scheduled: 0 not memorized:20 Active:70" would be modified to something smaller. "memorized:2 active:3" or something similar.
